2010 Coupe des Ameriques - by Steve Lehman - At the sign-in for this 27th edition of the Coupe des Ameriques Stage Race in Sutton, Quebec it was apparent that this was going to be a special year. The number of entrants was greater than any previous year by an astounding 100 riders.

This weekend (July 17 & 18, 2010)Tommy Schubert and Matt Waller were home alone. That is, with Nick Roeder and Booey Hottenstein out of town at the Tour of l'Abititbi in Canada, they were on their own at the Nicole Reinhart Memorial Tour de FCCC near Allentown.
Sutton, Quebec – 4 - 6 July, 2008- I love and dread this event. This was the nineteenth time in twenty years I have come to the Coupe des Ameriques Stage Race. I’ve come to Sutton one time just to ride and share this beautiful area of Quebec, twice when I was too injured to ride and sixteen times to race. This year I came to compete.

Coming into the 3rd Stage of the 2006 Fitchburg Longsjo Classic, Cory Burns was sitting 1st in General Classification based on his outstanding performance in the opening two stages. Cory won both of those stages and held an 18 second advantage to his nearest competitor.
The Elite / Espoir team traveled to Fitchburg, MA to compete in the longstanding and very demanding Fitchburg / Longjo Stage Race, 6/29 to 7/2. We had four very good riders coming off some impressive outings at the recently completed Commerce Bank Triple Crown Elite 1/2 events in Lancaster and Reading, PA. entered this year.

May 14-15, 2005: Owasco Stage Race – Auburn, NY - This was the weekend I had planned to fly down to Arkansas to revisit the Joe Martin Stage Race in Fayetteville and stay an extra week to do the Tri-Peaks Challenge in Russellville. With some major changes happening on the “work front”, I opted for Plan B...a trek to upstate New York to do a 2-day, 3-event stage race.
This past weekend the TSV Elite/Espoir team competed in the Owasco Stage Race. This is a relatively new event, only in it's second year. However the promoter aggressively recruited Pro/Elite teams and ended up with 110 riders for the Pro,1,2 event, including riders from Navigators, Colavita, Ofoto and many of the top New England amateur teams.
Dates: 4/9-4/10 -- Riders Present: Mike Attie(author) , Tucker Brown, Rich Kloslinski, Mike Koons, Mark Nielson, Neal Stansbury
The Philadelphia 2-Day consists of 2 races, the first a flat 50 mile circuit race, the second a bumpy 40 mile crit. Our plan was to do our best to control the race, making sure we always had at least one rider in any break.
