This past weekend the TSV Elite/Espoir team competed in the Owasco Stage Race. This is a relatively new event, only in it's second year. However the promoter aggressively recruited Pro/Elite teams and ended up with 110 riders for the Pro,1,2 event, including riders from Navigators, Colavita, Ofoto and many of the top New England amateur teams.
Lower Providence, when I write those two words anyone that havs lived in eastern Pa. seem to shudder. I have heard many stories about this crit, some of them date back to the 1980's!!! If any crit is still being raced since the '80s it must be good.
Sunday morning I woke up before the crack of dawn (5am to be precise), to get myself to the Lower Providence criterium. It was damp and very chilly outside. I drove to Lower Providence Crit course, as I wasn’t sure I’d be able to find it on my bike. It was still a little tricky to find, so I only had about 50 min before start time by the time I parked.
Midwest Conference Regional Championships were heldthis weekend and boy did Marian College clean up. Itall started with the Team Time Trial in which we won.It was pretty wild, we showed up to the line about aminute and a half before our start, not really knowingwhat was going on and not having talked to each otherbefore the thing started.
Dates: 4/9-4/10 -- Riders Present: Mike Attie(author) , Tucker Brown, Rich Kloslinski, Mike Koons, Mark Nielson, Neal Stansbury
The Philadelphia 2-Day consists of 2 races, the first a flat 50 mile circuit race, the second a bumpy 40 mile crit. Our plan was to do our best to control the race, making sure we always had at least one rider in any break.

Well I am typing with one hand. And I guess I should come out and say it... I had a very scary crash yesterday.

Dear Diary,
The following is an update of Chris Wilson, a member of the TSV Espoir Team. Chris is currently living at the Cycling Center in Belgium racing for the ABC-Aitos Team:
Philadelphia, PA Race Dates: April 9th & 10th: The Philly 2-Day was held as an omnium weekend. For most of us, this outing was our first race of the season. After having not race since last summer, this was the weekend to work out some kinks and rediscover racing, recover our racing legs and rediscover racing as a group.
The season has barely started for some of us, but the TSV Elite/Espoir team has already picked up some impressive results. Many of our riders are now competing for their collegiate teams. Riding for Marian College, Jon Royal won the criterium and placed 4th in the road race at Lindsey Wilson College. While racing in TSV colors he also got an impressive 4th in the Hueston Forest Road Race.
